Croatia is worth visiting for its unique mix of crystal-clear Adriatic sea, historic cities, and beautiful national parks—all within relatively short travel distances. You get charming coastal towns, islands, and inland landscapes, plus great food, local wine, and generally good value compared to many other Mediterranean destinations.
Croatian is the official language spoken throughout Croatia, using the Latin alphabet. English is widely understood in tourist areas, especially along the coast and in cities like Dubrovnik, Split, and Poreč. German is also commonly spoken, particularly by older generations and in popular tourist regions due to strong ties with German-speaking countries.
May, June or September and October are the best months to visit Croatia. With temperatures of 23-27°C during these months, fewer crowds, and lower prices than peak summer.
